Alcohols hco3 (from the Arab الغول, al-Guhl) are organic compounds in which the hydroxyl group (-OH) attached to a carbon atom in the alkyl or substituted alkyl group. The general formula of simple acyclic alcohols is CnH2n +2 O Alcohols have a menklaturi IUPAC suffix-ol. In everyday language, the word alcohol refers to ethanol, which is a component of alcoholic beverages. The best-known alcohol is ethanol, which is colorless, volatile fluid "burning" aroma and taste, which is obtained by the fermentation of sugars. hco3 Industrial synthetic ethanol is produced by the addition of water to ethene in pristonosti catalyst phosphoric acid [1]. Other more known of alcohol hco3 are methanol, hco3 which is also an integral part of some of the liquor, and isopropyl alcohol (propan-2-ol). Alcohols may also contain two, three or more hydroxyl groups. These alcohols are referred to as diols, triols, etc.. Most known diol is glycol (ethane-1 ,2-diol), which lowers the freezing point of water and, therefore, adds a cooling liquid. Best known is the triol glycerol (propane-1 ,2,3-triol), which is used in the cosmetics industry and the explosives industry (nitroglycerine). Alcohols, are classified into primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols, depending on whether the-OH group attached to the primary, secondary or tertiary carbon hco3 atom. The primary alcohol, for example ethanol, secondary propan-2-ol, tertiary 2-methylpropan-2-ol.
